The Medina County Board of MRDD offers Family
Support Services (FSS) which is a state
funded program. FSS provides financial help to
families enabling them to care for their family
member with disabilities at home. FSS dollars can be
used for respite care, adaptive equipment, home
modifications, dietary supplements, related
counseling, training, and/or education to meet
the special needs of the disabled individual.
Other
services that are often considered for reimbursement
include, but are not limited to:

Diapers/wipes for children over three
years of age
•
Prescriptions
•
Therapeutic toys & supplies
•
Therapeutic horseback riding
•
Adaptive swimming
•
Music/social skills therapy
•
Recreation center membership
•
Eye glasses
•
Art therapy
•
Dance therapy
•
Medical identification tags
•
Hearing aids and auditory ear infection
prevention wax removal, ear tubes
These
items (with the exception of diapers) need to be
referred by a professional and receive pre-approval from
The Medina County Board of MRDD. If you or your family
member are eligible for Board services and are not
currently receiving FRS/FSS but would like more
