Financial Resources
The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities understands that all individuals have the best opportunity to grow and develop when they are living in a supportive and safe environment. Sometimes individuals and families need a little extra help for this to happen. We offer the following programs to help financially support individuals with developmental disabilities.
Family Support Services Program
This program is state-funded and is designed to keep family members with developmental disabilities living at home. This program helps families purchase necessary equipment and services thus easing some financial burdens on the household.
Supported Living Program
This program is a state funded residential program that enables persons with disabilities to live in settings of their choice.
Waivers
This program is state-funded and is designed to help individuals with developmental disabilites pay for services and supports. Waivers set aside certain Medicaid rules in an effort to provide an alternative to institutional or group home placement.

The Different Needz Foundation
The Different Needz Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose primary mission is to provide special needs individuals and their families with money to purchase medical equipment, therapy devices, adaptive toys and/or services.
The Up Side of Downs Family Grants
Family Grants are made available to the membership of The Up Side of Downs to provide financial assistance which directly improves the life of the individual with Down syndrome. The funding for Family Grants comes from donations and fund raisers. Grants are awarded based on the availability of funds, which varies based on the amount of donations and participation in fund raisers in a given year.
The Zanes Foundation
The mission of the Zane’s Foundation is to provide financial support to families of special needs children through funds designated for respite care, therapies, or other assistive equipment. The Zane’s Foundation will help families attain some of those unique things that the child with special needs should have to allow for a more productive life.Through fund-raising efforts and grants, Zane’s Foundation will provide financial assistance to families.

When you join the ARC you can save money while providing funding to assist individuals with developmental disabilities. Program Overview
ACT Today! Autism Care and Treatment
ACT Today! is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to raise awareness and provide treatment services and support to families to help their children with autism achieve their full potential. The ACT Today! provides grant funding for various treatments that help a family living with autism.
Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities
The Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities was founded in 1997 by a group of small business owners to provide financial assistance to children challenged physically, developmentally or cognitively. MCCD provides families of these children the means to pursue medical treatments and therapies that are not covered by health insurance.
